Staying grounded: embracing cold days and new beginnings in our 'branches' newsletter
Dear reader,
How are you?
It is April and we’re in the middle of a wave of cold that is eating out harvest and spirit. We’re holding tight though, making sure to stay in the rays of sun, even if it’s just for a couple minutes per day.
It’s a great pleasure to be peeking into your inbox again! Our glow-up time extended beyond our initial plan, but we’re feeling grounded in the decisions we have made about this newsletter and we’re looking forward to the rhythm we’ve laid out for ourselves. We’d get straight to the point then.
I think we should call it “branches”. And first share our playlist.
Welcome to branches!
Branches is actually the name of a playlist we’ve made together just upon getting to know each other. The name returned to us when we were looking for a replacement for IRL - we wanted to find something that would communicate more clearly about how we are in the world. Together with the name search, we also looked around for ways to manifest this newsletter in our surroundings. Through an extremely loose and spread out process we ended up creating papier-mâché sculptures which have been inhabiting our home since then. Pictures of them will be serving us as covers for this newsletter.
Our new newsletter structure is not clear and a little complex. We’ll do some describing here and there but really we’ll be focusing on the flesh of it, on staying in the routine of writing, reflecting and sharing.
Branches has 4 strains. Each of them is a separate branch of branches and they are all sent out at different time intervals. One strain is written in Polish, the other three in English.
About this strain:
fruits of the newsletter: an overview strain, summary of what we wrote about recently + spicy gems from the margins. A place to share news, or recap past moments - a moment for archiving.
Every fifty days we will look back at what we’ve pushed out into your inboxes, dear readers. For us, it’s a moment to have a high-level reflection of our writing, notice the patterns surfacing, summarise what we wrote and anything that happened in between. Learning about ourselves through repetition of writing, reflecting and writing again.
If we need to update the readers on any changes in the structure of this newsletter it will happen here. Similarly, if we want to add a follow up on one of the sections we are writing, for example the next stages of a project initiated in A descend or anything we wished we knew when embarking on a task in Nieprzezroczystości (more about the two strains mentioned in the upcoming newsletters).
fruits of the newsletter will be sent out every 50 days
This will be all from us today. With hope you’ll pass a peaceful weekend…
