A small collective note (what we did together)
We would like to share with you our new website we made as a result of writing the last Nieprzezroczystości about website making. For those who don’t speak Polish: we asked ourselves the question ‘What would be on our website if we had one?’ which inevitably led us to writing about making websites AND actually making an online home for isz szi studio.
To visually track the process of making it, see the images in this post. To be honest we haven’t gone through the most interesting path…it’s been rather hard and most of our Figma sketches look wonky and strange. What helped was the late evening hours which made us say ‘no’ easier + designing directly in the code. We wanted a website=business card and that’s what we ended up with. We walked a twisted road to get here but being ‘here’ feels very gratifying. It’s a big relief and a joy to have a place to call our own in this online world in which we work and think and connect.
When you’re immersed in so many processes at once, it’s easy to get lost and start feeling like you have no anchor — iszszistudio.com is our anchor, a place to remember our bonds and commitments.
What Ire did
More than a year ago I asked Ire if they wanted to make a website for me. Ire was happy to give it a try. They designed it (this and many other funky versions), coded and wrote texts for the section originally titled “for collaborators” (now pop-up). Back then the plan was to use it as a portfolio for the graphic design work but as the year has gone on, I took less and less design commissions, and did more and more drawings. So when the website was done, we sat together (sun bless Ire’s patience) and agreed that the most fitting was to use this space for my drawings.
I’m grateful to Ire for this space, but also for the determination to adapt it to my changes of mind, indecisiveness, my graphic design crisis and more.
